| When you take such a large group of non- violent people and brand them with the label of "sex offender," you are basically ending any chance of a future. Because of the residency restrictions placed on ex- offenders, they are finding themselves without family support, having to move from their homes. They are no longer allowed in parks, schools and even churches that have day care centers or bible classes. They are being ostracized from society. The truth is, 93-95% of ALL future sex crimes will be committed by someone NOT on the registry. We need to clean up our registries and return them back to their original intent – which is to protect our children. |
We need to educate the public on who can actually become a sex
offender. Our current laws do not differentiate between violent
and non-violent offenders and you could be next.
Talk to people, pass out brochures and flyers and most
importantly, talk to your state representative and senator. They
are the ones that are voting for these laws and they need to hear
from you.
